Mercedes Campos López was born in Mexico and raised in Virginia.  She has a BA in biology from Oberlin College and an MFA from the Center for Cartoon Studies.  She is the creator of the MICE mini-grant awarded comic Sleepover Sleuths.  Her works have a broad area of interest from comedies about witches to science comics about the current pandemic.  She is very passionate about using comics in education and science communication.  She loves baking competition shows and her dog.
